Our seven year old received a rather generous Valentine's gift this year - and she had made a card for this same young boy a month ago. No, I don't think it was a kiss - just a mug - but with enough hearts and 'be mine' to move me to action. I remember having crushes from age 3. But when to talk about safeguarding ones purity? I guess it is now. Thankfully, Jennie Bishop has made it beautiful and easier. Her book, 'Princess and the Kiss' tells the story of a king and queen who guard a precious gift for their daughter until she is old enough to guard it for herself. When it comes time for her to marry, she chooses a man who values her gift and who has a gift to give her as well. I don't intend to talk about more than the general - and specific of not holding hands and kissing.
A second book by Bishop is 'The Squire and the Scroll' and encourages purity of the senses. It tells in the form of a quest, the search for the light, which is the treasure of the kingdom. Only a true knight who has guarded his senses can succeed in the quest.
I just ordered both these books for the children today, and recommend them highly.
