This article seems to state the impossible: global warming might be 'on hold'--for decades nonetheless (read: "we might be wrong about the media-scientific-indused hysteria, but we'll never type that".) Hopefully Congress can get a nice, big 'carbon tax' passed and signed into law (to further devastate the economy by increasing energy costs)--before all this junk science gets thoroughly disproved. I'm already looking foreward to the next Hollywood-based "scientific" fad.

Junk science? Please say it isn't so.
Here's just another example of how fears over global warming are unfounded. You may recall that that back in May, the Interior Dept. added polar bears to the endangered species list, primarily because of shrinking sea ice. There were actually predictions that the North Pole could all melt by the end of 2008. (Despite the fact that polar ice in Greenland was not shrinking.) But did the North Pole melt? In fact, "rapid growth spurt leaves amount of ice at levels seen 29 years ago." http://www.dailytech.com/Article.aspx?newsid=13834
You should also pay no never mind to the fact that the polar bear population has generally been growing. Since the 1970s, the polar bear population increased from about 5,000 to 25,000. In Canada, the polar bear population increased over a ten-year period from about 12,000 to 15,000. Eleven of Canada's thirteen polar bear populations either remained stable or increased. (As I recall, in at least one of the two declining populations, temperatures were cooling, not warming.)
But let's not dwell on the facts. They can be a little too inconvenient.

John,
Please don't let facts and evidence get in the way of a feel-good 'science' story. Heretic.
